Submissions
We are delighted to receive manuscripts direct from authors or from agents. We are publishers of adult and juvenile fiction, so if your precious manuscript is a work of non-fiction, there is little point in sending it to us.
Our interest is most piqued by literary fiction but that term is suffciently vague that it covers as many sins as virtues. If you have a great crime novel, we’d love to read it. Your novel of passion and fulfillment may not be Anna Karenina but as long as it isn’t a melodramatic bodice ripper, send it to us. First and foremost, it must be well well-written and be a great read.
Our juvenile books range from early reader picture storybooks to young adult books.
SUBMISSION GUILDLINES
We strongly recommend that you read the Writers’ and Artists’ Handbook before sending us your work. It contains many valuable tips about preparing your work for submission.
You will need to send a short synopsis (no more than three pages; one is generally enough), at least the first three chapters and, of course, a covering letter. A CV can help, especially if there is a relationship between your work and your history.
Our preferred method of receiving manuscripts is by email. Please do not send your manuscript by post unless it is absolutely necessary, If you do send by post, please include a stamped, self-addressed envelop, large enough to contain your manuscript and with sufficient postage to find its way safely back to you.
Your manuscript must have 2.5-3.0 cm margins, be double-spaced with a leading indent at the start of each paragraph.
The typeface should be Times New Roman 12 pt or Courier 12pt.
Unfortunately, we do not have the luxury of time to enable us to provide comments on your manuscript.
You may submit your manuscript by email, which will save you the cost of the forward and return postage.
We aim to respond within 6 weeks of the receipt of your manuscript. Please be patient, though.
The email address for submissions is submissions@sibling-press.com.
